LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Our leadership development curriculum will be directed by Eric Kapitulik and his staff at The Program, a team-building and leadership-development organization specializing in developing great teammates and leaders in order to create world-class teams.

The Program was founded in 2008 with the goal of providing the best leadership development and team-building services worldwide. The Program teaches how to be a great teammate and great leader. Then, most importantly, they challenge and develop individuals to be both.

MENTAL PERFORMANCE

The Athlete Academy’s mental performance training will be led by Chris Palmer, founder and coach at Piranha Training, which was created to transcend traditional sport by coaching, teaching and training the development of a growth and positivity mindset.  When things fall apart, we are always what we train every day to be.  That’s our vision – creating tough-as-nails athletes with courage, belief, confidence, and a commitment to team, and the ability to get back up and do their job regardless of how tough things get.

COGNITIVE TRAINING

Our cognitive training component will be featured by use of the Senaptec Sensory Station. This training device is a state-of-the-art sensory evaluation and training station which assesses 10 visual and sensorimotor skills. This technology has been implemented in training by over 25 different professional teams across hockey, baseball, and football in addition to Elite Performance Groups, such as Team USA Volleyball, Toyota Racing Development, and the UFC (click here to see the list).  Some of the skills trained on this exclusive technology are reactionary time, peripheral vision, multiple object tracking, and more.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

All strength and conditioning sessions will take place at the Athlete Lab and under the direction of Joe Neal, head strength and conditioning coach for 2SP Sports.  All athletes will receive individualized training specific to their needs and coordinated with their competition schedule in mind.

Training programs are designed on a solid foundation of principles and components that separate us from the industry. They are methodically planned…the exercise selection, intensity and duration are changed every phase to provide a favorable adaptation stimulus.

As a result of the unique combination of science and practical application, 2SP has been recognized as an industry leader in elite athlete training and has trained 100’s of athletes from all sports.

MOBILITY

In order to maximize athletic performance, an athlete must be able to move their body freely in its full range of motion and also maximize its strength.  Mobility training has been proven to help athletes move more efficiently and have a positive impact on injury prevention.  The Athlete Academy’s Mobility Program will feature an on-site Yoga/Mobility Coach as part of the Athletic Development.

DIETARY/NUTRITION EDUCATION

All student-athletes attending The Athlete Academy will be educated by industry-leading experts on the benefits of proper nutrition, hydration, and sleep.  It is well known that a great diet cannot make an average athlete great, but that a poor diet can make a great athlete average.  Our goal will be to provide the understanding and foundation for our student-athletes to develop good eating, hydration and sleeping habits that will enhance both their athletic performance and life in general.
